The meaning and connotation of words/terms related to library science
Abstract
Languages are a source of communication. They are also the foundation of the thoughts, feelings and mental creation of human beings. Language can be strengthened when a very rich vocabulary exists for the sack of knowledge, understanding, and articulation. Through strong vocabulary the language can be transformed into different book references. Such vocabulary can be found in dictionaries.
There are a number of languages which are being spoken all around the world, but among them all, there exists a language which is considered dominant all around the world. The language, which is being referred to, is the English language which is now supposed to be a global language, as it is understood everywhere.
A dictionary is a reference book containing the words of a language usually alphabetically arranged, with information on their forms, pronunciations, functions, meanings, etymologies, spellings and idiomatic uses. Most of this information cannot be found in other reference books. It is important to consider several advantages in the use of dictionaries.
There is a lot of material available in English dictionaries, rather than dictionaries of Sindhi or other local languages. However, such types of strong dictionaries are the demand of native speakers in their own languages.
In this article, the author tried to find out some new words along with usage in different books (Sindhi, Urdu & English) for better understanding in daily life through the help of spoken as well as written form in books regarding Library Science.
