There is a significant difference between vernacular speech and literary language. Literary language is structured medium used in formal text. Textbooks are important within this category, they serve as a primary tool for transmitting a mother tongue to future generation. Internationally, language learning in textbooks relies on three core components: phonology, vocabulary and grammar. This study evaluates the primary textbooks produced by Sindh Textbook Board. It examines whether these books provide sufficient material across the three linguistic components. The research first analyses phonology focusing on letters and phonetic sounds. It then assesses vocabulary development by reviewing expert opinions on the phased introduction of new words. Finally the study examines grammar pedagogy, it investigates how grammatical rules are presented and their practical benefits for students. The goal is to determine the effectiveness of these textbooks in foundational language acquisition.
