This paper discusses translation as a linguistic, cultural and intellectual process with specific references made to Sindhi language and literature. Instead, it considers translation as the transfer of meaning, culture, and aesthetic value between languages, and not just the replacement of words. The article gives a brief overview of the significant variable types of translations and explains the main theoretical principles that are developed by most prominent scholars, as well as typical obstacles to translation, including the loss of meaning and the irrelevance of cultures. A real-life situation example in which the Mitch Albom novel Tuesdays with Morrie was translated by Qurban Channa as Professor Morrie and I is provided to explore the efficacy of the applied translation strategies. As it is seen in the analysis, even though there can be no perfect match, a good translator can deliver emotional richness, philosophical acumen, and clarity of the story. The paper concludes that use of the existing rules of translation can lead to creation of authentic and meaningful translation, which can make a great contribution to the enrichment of Sindhi literature and the cultural exchange.
