Abstract

Rasheed Bhatti was a critic, columnist, humorist and story writer. He has had been known as progressive writer. He was also an editor of “Al-minnar” newspaper and “Prih Phutti” magazine and sub editor of “Naee,an Sindh” Karachi. He was much interested in journalism also.

Rasheed Bhatti one of the pioneers of “Sindhi Adabi Sangat” a literary organization, spread in whole Sindh.

In 1972, he participated in Language movement known as “Sindhi boli Qoumi boly”, his role in that moment was un-forgettable. He had been the secretary general of “Sindhi Adabi Sangat”.

He, also was known as a best story writer. His first story “Chori” was published in weekly “Roshni” Sukkur, which caused his popularity.

By reading his stories, it comes in our knowledge, that he started writing on such topics and characters, which were strictly prohibited. He wrote bravely through his life.

If we analyses his stories, and pay a critic glimpse upon his pen work, it appears clear, that Rasheed Bhatti was one of the story writers, who started writing something new and much connected to society.

In this article, a brief review is presented, which helps to understand his stories.
