Abstract

Miyun Shah Inayat is an important Sufi Poet of Classical period, who introduced many novelties, trends, metaphors and allegories in classical Sindhi poetry. His poetry has interesting qualities, new ideas and vast topics. Certain topics such as reformative points, depths of love, pantheism and naturalism are beautifully expressed in his poetry.

Shah Inayat on many occasions has portrayed alluring and fascinating picturization of nature. He has depicted all forms of Nature such as personification of nature, analogy of nature and its reflections. He has depicted society through Naturalism. He has composed poetry referring to Moon and Clouds and has personified the Mood as the beloved. Using the local tradition and pure language of Thar, he has composed multiple “Baits” (couplets) on Thar. His “Surood Marie” (Melody of Marie) contains Natural sceneries and description of Thar.
